Disclaimer: The content in the PDF report is provided for general information purposes only. The content includes summaries written by our team members based on publicly available information about product safety, labeling, documentation, testing, supply chain risks, processes, and other product compliance/safety related topics. However, we don’t guarantee that we cover every single relevant regulation/standard/requirement, or that the information is free from errors, or covering every single scenario and exemption. We do make mistakes from time to time. We never provide legal advice of any sort.
Changes/Updates: Product standards and substance restrictions are subject to frequent updates and changes. In addition, new regulations, standards, and/or requirements may also become effective at any time. We don’t update the tool databank whenever new standards/regulations/rules are added or changed. We recommend that you consult a lab testing company or other professional to get the latest information about mandatory standards/regulations in your market, country, or state. Lab testing companies generally stay up to date on new and updated standards and regulations. You must also follow the links under Learn more.
National/State-Level Standards/Regulations: The report doesn’t cover European national and US state standards, regulations, and requirements, or only covers these topics partially. We recommend that you consult a testing company or other professional to confirm all relevant (and current) national/state-level standards and regulations.
Sources: We link to official website sources in this report under Learn more, where you must go to find additional information about each topic.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the purpose of this tool?
This tool generates a PDF report based on the following parameters:
- Product category
- Product parameters
The automatically generated report includes general information compliance requirements, such as product certificates, documentation, labeling requirements, and lab testing requirements.
The goal of the report is to help you better understand which requirements apply to your product. The report also includes links to official website resources under Learn more which you must access for additional information about each topic.
What should I do once the report is generated?
You need to carefully study the resources provided under Learn more for each topic.
Do you guarantee that my products become compliant and safe if I use the tool?
No, the report itself does not make your product become compliant. It serves as a starting point and provides a general direction for further research and action. However, the report doesn’t serve as a “confirmation” of compliance requirements to a specific product or country.
You may still need to take the following steps:
1. Contact the relevant authorities (including national and/or state level authorities) to assess if any other product regulations, standards or requirements apply to your product (e.g. not mentioned in the report).
2. Book third-party lab testing
3. Confirm applicable product standards and ensure that your product designs are compliant
Note: We recommend that you consult a lab testing company to get the latest information about mandatory standards/regulations in your market, country, or state. Lab testing companies generally stay up to date on new and updated standards and regulations.
4. Create label files and documentation
5. Apply for pre-import approvals and/or permits
6. Assess your suppliers’ ability to manufacture compliant products
Do you guarantee that the information in the report is accurate and complete?
We don’t guarantee that the information in the report is free of error, inaccurate, or covering every possible product specification/scenario. Further, we don’t guarantee that the report covers every single standard and regulation that may apply to a certain product, in the relevant market, country, or state.
1. We could misunderstand certain requirements (e.g. labeling or testing), or fail to add relevant information about certain compliance requirements. We do make mistakes from time to time.
2. We don’t guarantee that we include information on every single product regulation, labeling requirement, documentation requirement, certificates, testing requirement, or process that may apply to a certain product.
3. Also, we generally (with some exceptions) don’t cover European national and US state-level product standards and regulations. We recommend that you consult a testing company to confirm all relevant (and current) national/state-level standards and regulations.
The reports should only be treated as a broad introduction to requirements for a certain product. The benefit is that you’ll save time and know in which direction to go and do further research – but it is not a definitive report that covers every single compliance requirement.
Further, this tool is currently at an early stage development phase and will be continuously improved throughout 2020 and 2021. We, therefore, recommend that you assume that the reports are incomplete to a certain extent.
Do you keep the tool up to date?
Existing standards and regulations are subject to changes on a regular basis. In addition, new regulations, standards and/or requirements may also become effective. In fact, there are changes on a monthly basis.
We don’t update the tool databank whenever new standards/regulations/rules are added or changed. We recommend that you consult a lab testing company to get the latest information about mandatory standards/regulations in your market, country, or state. Lab testing companies generally stay up to date on new and updated standards and regulations.
How many reports can I generate?
Startup (Free): 1 report per month
Business: Unlimited usage for 12 calendar months (from the day you sign up)
Does this tool help me confirm applicable standards?
No, this tool does not cover product standards (e.g EN 71 or ASTM). We recommend that you let a third-party testing company assess applicable product standards on a case to case basis. Keep in mind that product standards are subject to change, and new may be added. Third-party testing companies generally stay up to date with new and updated standards.

You can save up to 500 reports in My Reports. You can also delete reports if you exceed this number.
What is the purpose of the courses?
The courses include more in-depth and detailed information about labeling requirements, certification, and other important information. The courses serve as a complement to the tool.
